Songs of Praise

Sunday, 30 September 2008, is a 5 th Sunday. There will be a ‘Group’ Songs of Praise at St Martin’s on that evening to which all will be very welcome. I will be organising it and Esther Jones from Christ Church will be leading a part of it as we learn some African music and songs for which she has a special gift.

Otherwise, over to you… please let me know what you would like to sing and I will try and put it together in some kind of order.

Revisiting the essentials of the Christian Faith

The sermon on the first Sunday of every month will take a central aspect of Christian belief, and teach about it in a slightly more defined and structured way. It is important to note that this service remains, as before, a Parish Communion service.

The reading and Gospel for the day will be chosen specially to feed into the sermon, and that means we won’t be using the lectionary (as we usually do at Parish Communion) on those Sundays.

You might think that this would be a good service for you to invite friends to – friends who might be interested in hearing a straightforward explanation of the Gospel.

Do come along, have a listen, perhaps bring a friend, and let us know what you think!
