If you need a tool to help you find peace and space in the whirl of Christmas preparations the Church of England's online Advent calendar could be the thing for you.
Under the slogan Ready Steady Slow the calendar at www.whywearewaiting.com is filled with go-slow lifestyles, challenges, stories along with daily videos and podcasts from around the Church of England - and beyond. The website will also have daily Bible passages and prayers.
The calendar is brought, to us by the Archbishop’s Council, and opened on Advent Sunday November 29. The site was launched on 26 November with a special video message which includes brief messages from the Archbishops Desmond Tutu and John Sentamu.
Take time out this Advent to slow down and consider your lifestyle.

Christmas singers wanted
. . . for the Nativity service
(13 December)
Young singers aged 7+ are invited to participate in the annual nativity service at Christ Church on Sunday 13 December at 10am. There are parts for narrators, soloists and members of the chorus. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 6-7pm and Saturday 12 December from 2-4pm with a party in the hall afterwards. The children will also have the opportunity to perform their songs at the Ashley Centre (date tbc).

Christ Church Choir warmly welcomes singers from the Epsom area who would like to join us for our carol service on Sunday 20 December at 6pm. There will be rehearsals in the church on Thursdays 3, 10 & 17 December from 8-9pm (enter the church through the side door, on the left side of the church from the car park). On the day itself there will be a rehearsal at 3pm with a break for tea before the service at 6pm. Ability to sightread is an advantage but not a prerequisite as practice tapes are available.

A party from Christ Church will be carol singing in the Cricketers Pub on Tuesday 22 December at 7pm. Please join us for a festive evening to raise money for a worthy cause.
