Sunday Morning Groups Children – the church of tomorrow – are an important part of our church family. We aim to help them discover and deepen a Christian faith through special provision made for them in the groups listed below. (Christ Church on the Wells also makes special provision for children in its congregation – click here for more details.)
A Crèche (0-3 yrs.) is – with very rare exceptions – available in the church hall for all 10am services. All other groups meet during our 10am Parish Communions that are held every Sunday except for the all-age services that are held monthly (normally the third Sunday) or during school holidays. All groups start in the church so that they and their leaders can share in our collective worship. Scramblers, Climbers and Explorers sit with their teachers and parents in the first four rows. They leave the church just before the Gospel and go to their separate classes in the hall. Pathfinders leave just before the sermon for their session in the Vestry. Everyone then comes back into church for the end of the service. Communion is received not only by those who have been Confirmed but also by those Explorers and Pathfinders who have been formally prepared to take Communion before Confirmation. Other children and young people go forward with communicants to receive a blessing. |
Shake, Rattle and Praise (the baby and toddler service). A service for babies, toddlers and their grown-ups is held every 3rd Thursday of the month (older siblings welcome), at 10:45 – 11:30 in Christ Church Hall. There will be singing, Bible stories, crafts and homemade cakes! For more information contact Vicki on 01372 800714 |

The Football Association recognise the Club as a Mini-Soccer and Soccer Stars Centre, and our coaches hold appropriate FA coaching qualifications. Coaching is split into a number of age groups and takes place at Blenheim School in Longmead Road, Epsom on Saturdays during term-time between 9.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. The football season starts when the schools resume after the summer holidays. Christ Church United have a pretty impressive track record in the Bishop’s League table!! |

PASSION (Age 13–18) Every Sunday at 7.15pm Christ church hall becomes a hive of activity. With a tennis table and pool table setup upstairs and silly games being played, some would say that it’s an ideal environment for the teenager between the ages of 12 and 18. The aim of the evening is for the young people to have fun, to interact with their friends and others in a Christian environment (run by Christians) and to get better at pool or table tennis! There is even a tuck shop available if they get the munchies. We have also been known to go bowling, or just have a party in the hall instead of the usual meeting. The high point of the year is when we take the group down to the Christian festival “Soul Survivor”. Here the teens can let their hair down and really discover more about the Christian faith through the worship and seminars that are packed into the 5 days over August. We camp in tents during the event and normally eat as a group to cement the fellowship that has grown throughout the year. It can be an emotional rollercoaster for all of us (even the leaders) but the unanimous result is a group that is closer to their personal faith and to their friends. |
