Sunday Groups

Crèche (0-3 years)
Scramblers (3-5years)
Climbers (5&6 years)
Explorers (7&8 years)
Discoverers (9&10 years)

Pathfinders (11-14years).

There are some 60 children registered with children's groups. Scramblers through to Discoverers meet all together at 10am for a few minutes for a song or two and some prayers and a bit of conversation all together.  We take up a collection which at the moment is being directed to the Hand in Hand project in Brazil where Ruth nee Shipton is working. After the brief together session the children go to their separate classes where they have activity/craft work, stories and games.  At 10 minute to 11 am the groups get together again and there is a brief review from the individual members of things that they have learned in the morning. Then we all form a big circle holding hands and sing a song called 'Shalom', bidding each other peace for the day, before going in to join the parents for Communion. One group of 7 year olds has been prepared to take Communion 2 years ago, and another is currently preparing for their instruction classes . At Christmas the Children's Groups present a Nativity to the Church and on the day of the rehearsal for this there is a Disco for the children.

Shake, Rattle and Praise (the baby and toddler service).

A service for babies, toddlers and their grown-ups is held every 3rd Thursday of the month (older siblings welcome), at 10:45 – 11:30 in Christ Church Hall. There will be singing, Bible stories, crafts and homemade cakes! For more information contact Vicki on 01372 800714

PASSION (Age 13–18)

Every Sunday at 7.15pm Christ church hall becomes a hive of activity. With a tennis table and pool table setup upstairs and silly games being played, some would say that it’s an ideal environment for the teenager between the ages of 12 and 18. The aim of the evening is for the young people to have fun, to interact with their friends and others in a Christian environment (run by Christians) and to get better at pool or table tennis! There is even a tuck shop available if they get the munchies. We have also been known to go bowling, or just have a party in the hall instead of the usual meeting.

The high point of the year is when we take the group down to the Christian festival “Soul Survivor”. Here the teens can let their hair down and really discover more about the Christian faith through the worship and seminars that are packed into the 5 days over August. We camp in tents during the event and normally eat as a group to cement the fellowship that has grown throughout the year. It can be an emotional rollercoaster for all of us (even the leaders) but the unanimous result is a group that is closer to their personal faith and to their friends.
